Established in 1988, HSR began by offering paper and cardboard collection for recycling and from there grew its services, offering a host of resource management solutions that encourage the highest and best use of materials.
After witnessing the extent of our societal mismanagement of resources on the frontlines for decades, HSR has now transitioned towards providing knowledge, solutions and monitoring for facilities to reduce the amount of waste they generate, as opposed to simply diverting it away from landfill.
This paradigm shift is today referred to as Zero Waste.
With access to a global network of Zero Waste and resource management professionals, we represent the premier local driver of Zero Waste practices and policies within the business community, offering a wide array of Zero Waste and Resource Management Services that guide facilities towards a lower environmental impact and the circular/sharing economy.
We live our values.
They drive our organization and more importantly, they represent the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ we treat both each other, as well as the communities which we serve.
Zero Waste teaches us that we are part of a whole.
We believe that by treating others as we want to be treated, with compassion and respect, we foster positive citizenship. We believe true leadership begins by listening to the needs and wants of the people we work with and the people we live with. We listen, so we can lead. Environmental protection is our core, motivating us to drive change and ensure everyone can enjoy a healthy and happy community. We believe that by offering learning opportunities we promote empowerment and positive change. We all have a shared responsibility and never shy away from our own.
Likewise, we encourage everyone to stand up and be counted.
